“Say No to Manual Scavenging” says Bezwada Wilson

Bezwada Wilson talks about the deaths of manual scavengers in Delhi and also in the country. Discussing the Delhi government’s plan to completely mechanise sewer cleaning in the city, with Newsclick, he notes that the nature of the Indian state is changing. The state he says has got no concept of welfare, safety and security of the poor, and it is increasingly getting masculine and militarized. It is the responsibility of the Chief Ministers and the Prime Minister to assure safety and security to the manual scavengers. Watch the conversation here:
