Bezwada Wilson talks about the deaths of manual scavengers in Delhi and also in the country. Discussing the Delhi government’s plan to completely mechanise sewer cleaning in the city, with Newsclick, he notes that the nature of the Indian state is changing. The state he says has got no concept of welfare, safety and security of the poor, and it is increasingly getting masculine and militarized.
