Drawing from her field notes and recordings of the people’s testimonies, this work reports a public hearing of Building and Contract workers at the Labour Department Office, Beawar, in the form of a comic. Shared here with permission from Poorva Goel.
Poorva Goel is a cartoonist/comic-maker based in Assam. She documents stories about people, places and paradigms through comics. As a graphic storyteller, she has collaborated with a range of experts across disciplines, and social and environmental movements and organizations. She has worked on graphic publications, reporting stories about communities and conservation. Poorva is interested in the relationships between political, social, and economic factors with environmental changes.
