Music and poetry have been central to the Dalit movement. There are myriad poems about Ambedkar, and songs old and new that celebrate the strength of Dalit movements and demand an end to atrocities and humiliation.

This episode of Waqt ki Awaz features poetry, song and music that gives expression to Dalit resistance and protest. From Kadubai Kharat and Sheetal Sathe to the newer voices claiming space in the mainstream like Arivu and Ginni Mahi, this episode captures how Ambedkar’s legacy lives on in music and poetry.
