Comrade Govind Pansare was shot on 16th February 2015. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away on 20th February 2015. His death led to an obvious and clear vacuum in the social, political, and cultural sphere. Everyone remembers him in his various roles as a bold Marxist, a communist party leader, a supporter of the peasants, a champion of the workers, a much-loved leader of social and political movements and, above all, a sensitive human being who empathised with the masses. In the article written below by Pansare’s daughter-in-law, Megha Pansare, she says there is a lot to be learnt from his lifelong contribution to the society, his activism, and his politics.
