Why Asking Bands to Not Perform in Israel is Not an Attack on Freedom of Speech and Expression
November 29, 2017
On the 40th International Solidarity Day for the Palestinian People, Souradeep Roy of the Indian Cultural Forum and Apoorva Gautam of Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions, India (BDS India) explain why asking bands to not perform in Israel is not an attack on freedom of speech and expression. They take Roger Waters example and his performance at Nev Shalom: Palestinians could not attend the concert because of restrictions on their movement because of the Israeli occupation. If there is anyting that the BDS movement stands for, Gautam explains, it is for freedom.
