Tamil Nadu police have filed a case against the Tamil film director Pa Ranjith for allegedly inciting caste enmity. He had made some remarks on Chola dynasty king Raja Chola while delivering a speech at an event. The Hindu Makkal Katchi – a Hindu nationalist party in the state – has filed a complaint against him and its members have reportedly bashed him in public.
