The Casteless Collective (TCC) started in 2017 as a brainchild of Tamil movie director Pa. Ranjith. The group features dalit-bahujan artists, singers, rappers, musicians and lyricists. TCC’s songs are filled with history and politics and, over the years, garnered a dedicated following. In 2019, on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, TCC released the song ‘Thalaiva’. The song is a tribute to one of the greatest social reformers, Dr BR Ambedkar.
