Kanchan Chander started out as a printmaker after studying art in New Delhi, Santiago (Chile), Berlin, and Paris (Ecole Des Beaux Arts, Paris). Her awards include the International Print Biennale Award Bradford, UK in 1986; and her work has been acquired by global collections such as the National Gallery Modern Art, Delhi, the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, the Ecole Des Beaux Arts, Paris, and the Fukuoka Art Museum in Japan. She was a Lecturer at College of Art, New Delhi till 2005.
