Gaushala Vs Girls’ Hostel

Hansraj College, which comes under Delhi University, last month started a Cow Research and Protection Centre on its campus last month. The gaushala called Swami Dayanand Saraswati Gau-Samwardhan ewam Anusandhan Kendra has been allegedly built on the land designated for a women’s hostel.

The decision to open a cow research centre in a publicly funded institution which is supposed to be secular should be seen in the larger context of growing atmosphere of majoritarianism and right-wing domination in educational institutions.

Indian Cultural Forum approached artists who are resisting through their art to respond to this issue about the cow centre.
