We started Bol in 2020 to share poetry of hope, love and resistance. Since then, the need to read, to sing and to find ways of making our voices heard have only become more important. We are living in times of growing hate, of division and discrimination on the basis of religion, caste and gender. Vinay Mahajan’s “Mat Baanton Insaan Ko”, a poem written in 1985 but relevant even today, is a cry to stop this division and hatred.
Admiral Laxminarayan Ramdas and Lalita Ramdas have been singing this poem for decades. Today, they are singing it again because they believe, “We can only counter these toxic times by offering the vision of the Constitution and a true Vasudeva Kuttumbakam…”
