Maraa, a Bangalore-based media and arts collective recently launched a concert series called Here to Stay. With the arrests of human rights and cultural activists, lawyers and writers; caste and religion based persecutions and deaths, these concerts are a reminder to sing loudly and fearlessly, for ideas cannot be arrested.
These pre-recorded concerts are also part of Maraa’s effort to support folk and protest musicians across the nation in the wake of the pandemic and all contributions from ticket sales go directly to the artists.
The first concert, Spectacular Visions, featured Kabir Mandlis from Madhya Pradesh and Waai singers from Kutch, Gujarat.
