“How many more?”, asks Pratishtha Pandya, in her poem that implores the apathetic, the complicit, to confront the violence that history has inflicted on women, compounded if they are dalit. This poem reminds the oppressor of the lives claimed and mutilated, that will rise in rage and resistance, shun the ignominy, and without reprieve, take over what is rightfully theirs in the world.
How many more
before the shock hits you
or will it only numb you?
