The Narendra Modi government, which shows superficial interest in Babasaheb by appropriating his image to strengthen its vote bank, has shown its true colour by arresting Dr. Anand Teltumbde, an Ambedkarite scholar and Babasaheb’s grandson-in-law, on his birth anniversary. As someone associated with the Ambedkarite movement, I strongly condemn this arrest. On the day when the entire Ambedkarite community celebrates the birth anniversary of Babasaheb, pushing an Ambedkarite scholar into a valley of darkness is an unforgivable sin.
