Last week, India witnessed a series of mass protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The students of Aligarh Muslim University were on the forefront rejecting this divisive law and held protests and awareness campaigns to highlight the fascist nature of the Act. On November 15, police entered the university campus and took over. The police action earned massive condemnation in India and around the world.
The following is a report by the AMU Students’ Union explaining the circumstances under which the university was attacked by the police force under the current BJP government.
