Hidayatullah National Law University, Naya Raipur organised a lecture series as part of the LL. M Programme, inviting legal luminaries to speak on various aspects of litigation, corporate practise and judicial services. The panel spoke on "Shifting Contours of the Grundnorm: Constitutional Challenges in Today's India". Speakers Gautam Bhatia, Apar Gupta and Abhinav Sekhri discussed the Unlawful Activities Preventions Act (UAPA), amendments to the Right to Information Act (RTI), Article 370, the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and data protection.
Gautam Bhatia is a Supreme Court Advocate and a rising constitutional jurist. He is the author of The Transformative Constitution: A Radical Biography in Nine Acts and runs the blog Indian Constitutional Law and Philosophy
Apar Gupta is an eminent lawyer at the Supreme Court of India and the head of the raft Indian Privacy Code Team. He is also the Executive Director of the Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF).
Abhinav Sekhri is an advocate at the Delhi High Court. He specialises in criminal defence.
