Recently, Jawaharlal Nehru University decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings under the Central Civil Services (CCS) Rules, 1965 against an associate professor. Following this, the teachers of the university have come out to openly oppose the application of these rules and called it an unjust way to clamp down dissenting voices and critical thinking.
