A caravan – Karwan E Mohabbat – is visiting the families of those who have lost their lives due to hatred and violence that has gripped the country in the name of “Cow Protection”(Gau Rakshaks). This caravan started its journey from Assam on September 4, 2017. Passing through 6 states, it reached Rajasthan on September 14. The participants were welcomed to a grand reception and public meeting that evening at Alwar.
On 15th morning the Karwan left for Bheror to pay respects to Pehlu Khan, the dairy farmer who was lynched by the “Gau Rakshaks”.
The police administration did not give permission stating that there could be violence and only allowed Harsh Mander from Karwan E Mohabbat to pay respects. A little later when the bus halted to pick up snacks there was a small group that pelted stones and insulted the participants saying they were “anti-nationals”. Through out the journey to Jaipur there was police escort to prevent such incidents.
