Dakshinayan Abhiyan has appealed all the citizens including scientists, writers, professors, teachers and students to attend the meeting scheduled to be held on Monday, 7th August 2017 at Conference Hall of Goa Union of Journalists, , Shrama Shakti Bhavan, Patto – Panaji at 5:30 pm. to press for demands to allocate at least 3% of GDP to scientific and technological research and 10% towards education, to Stop propagation of unscientific, obscurantist ideas and religious intolerance, develop scientific temper, human values and spirit of inquiry in conformance with Article 51A of the Constitution, to ensure that the education system imparts only ideas that are supported by scientific evidence and to enact policies based on evidence-based science.
The meeting will be presided by Mr. Somu Rao and is going to be addressed by Dr. Reshma Raut Dessai, Mr. Atul Naik, Dr. Kalidas Sawkar, Ms. Anjali Dessai , Ms. Rajeshree Thakur, Ms. Rajeshree Karapukar and Mr. Satyendra Sonar. The meeting will also pay condolence to recently departed Scientists, Dr. U. R Rao of ISRO, Professor Yash Pal & Dr. Pushpa Mitra Bhargava.
