The recent killing of H Farooq, an atheist, from Salem in Tamil Nadu in March 2017 is only the latest in a series of attacks on rationalists. Well known activist and political thinker Kolathur Mani, founder, Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (Dravidian Liberation Federation) speaks to Newsclick wherein he recollects the journey of the rationalist movement in Tamil Nadu. He further elaborates the current challenges before the Dravidian Movement in the context of an upsurge of the RSS and Tamil chauvinist parties.
