This was a public hearing organised by Social Development Foundation in October 2014, to hear out the issues of the women either engaged in manual scavenging, or belonging to the community. National Commission for Women's member, Ms Hemlata Kheria was the chief guest. Lots of issues came up during the conversation. In fact, many government officials reacted in disbelief upon learning that the practice is still prevalent.
