Remembering Bhagat Singh
On the day Bhagat Singh became a martyr, we share this interview with Chaman Lal. While many of us do recognise Bhagat Singh as an icon of India’s freedom struggle and national movement, many know little of what he did, and then juxtapose his contributions in the current political scenario. Here, D. Raghunandan of Newsclick speaks to Professor Lal, who has authored many books and articles on Bhagat Singh. According to Prof. Lal, the best form of resistance against the Right wing party has been fostered by the youth, and Bhagat Singh is an important contemporary icon for that reason.
