Several political prisoners, including artists, lawyers, academics, poets, and other human rights advocates, continue to languish in jail. Denied the right to bail, and even basic healthcare in the times made worse by the pandemic, the condition of these prisoners reflects on the authoritarianism and vindictiveness of the present regime. Another academic, Hany Babu, Associate Professor at Delhi University has been arrested on Tuesday, 28 July 2020.
As spaces for dissent continue to shrink, it is imperative that voices from all progressive sections come together in solidarity and resistance. The Indian Cultural Forum has been running a campaign to give a platform to these voices through its social media pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
