Journalists face threats from pandemic, govt and managements

Senior journalist Bhasha Singh talks about the crisis being faced by journalists due to COVID-19, retrenchments and oppressive laws. In Mumbai, as many as 50 journalists have contracted the disease.

Bhasha also speaks to Kashmiri photojournalist Masrat Zahra, who is being persecuted with UAPA charges being pressed against her. The case against her also needs to be seen alongside the proceedings against The Hindu's correspondent Peerzada Ashiq. She also talks to Anuradha Bhasin of the Kashmir Times on these issues, and analyses the recent retrenchments in the industry.
