“I will continue to work in Bastar”: Bela Bhatia
February 2, 2017
We spoke to Bela Bhatia, academic and human rights activist, after she was threatened by goons to leave Bastar within 24 hours. She explains the circumstances of the attack which began on January 21, 2017. Inspite of filing an F.I.R and providing evidence of the attack, the police has not made any arrests so far. She comes down heavily on the language used by the Bastar Inspector General of Police S.R.P Kalluri, and says that she will not be intimidated by such behavior. She will continue to work in Bastar but will leave the house in which she stays. Watch the interview here:
